CrashPlan: backup software for Ubuntu
A critical aspect of your business IT is ensuring that data is regularly backed up. Files and folders stored on your computers are especially vulnerable to loss through scenarios such as theft or a computer parts failure (such as the computer's internal storage drive). With a robust backup system in place, you are protected against the costly and damaging risk of permanent data loss.
Many business backup products are available—from software bundled with external hard disk drives, to expensive "managed" services for large-scale enterprises. The former is generally inadequate for business use, and the latter can be prohibitively expensive for smaller companies. Another option is to use cloud-hosted storage services such as Dropbox for backup. While useful, these services are designed first and foremost for storage and sharing, and lack many of the specialist features present in a dedicated backup solution.
CrashPlan is a full-featured and affordable backup product for small to medium-sized businesses. CrashPlan enables automated, continuous backups to an external drive, or to other computers on your office network. For an additional recurring subscription fee, CrashPlan can also continuously back up your data to the cloud. What we especially like about this product is it runs great on Ubuntu (as compared with other more restrictive backup software which may only run on Microsoft Windows or Apple macOS):

Features such as the ability to back up new or changed files only, selective file restoration, and fine-grained control over how and when backups occur, are just some of the many advantages CrashPlan offers. It's a considerable advance over using a cloud storage provider or bundled software, and presented in an easy-to-use graphical interface. Using CrashPlan in tandem with Ubuntu makes an unbeatable business computing experience: powerful, secure, and affordable—while keeping your business data safe.
